Orin's Family Tradition

Celebrating over 70 Years of service

The Jewelry business has been a tradition in the Mazzoni family since Orin J. Mazzoni opened his first store in Weirton, West Virginia in 1933. A watchmaker by trade, he devoted his younger years to building his reputation as a fine craftsmen, dedicated to quality work and superior service at a fair price.

In 1953, Orin and his wife Mary moved their family to Garden City, Michigan and set up business under the name Orin Jewelers. In the early years, the Mazzoni family lived right above the store, which was then located on the southwest corner of Ford Road and Middlebelt. This is where Orin and Mary Mazzoni, along with their children Carol, Joyce and Orin Jr., learned the family business from the "Bottom Up!"

Throughout the years, Orin and Mary built an extraordinary reputation for honesty and integrity as the areas finest jeweler, with incredible devotion and quality and service. In 1965, the Mazzoni family moved right across the street to the Folker Building (originally a National Bank of Detroit, then Garden City, City Hall), our present location in Garden City. Now with a larger showroom, Orin's could expand their services and designer lines to offer the finest jewelry in the area.

When Orin Sr. retired in 1969, Orin Jr. took over as president and CEO. Orin Jr.'s goal was to continue the same family traditions and ideals that were so important to his parents. Along with his sister Joyce, the Mazzoni children's plan was to continue to build upon the foundations that had made Orin Jewelers great; the finest quality jewelry, impeccable service, and the integrity to have a family oriented atmosphere where people feel comfortable and welcome. With the lifelong background in jewelry, Orin Jr. became a Graduate Gemologist of the Gemological Institute of America in 1977, which proved not only his love of gems and jewelry, but also the desire to give his customers the highest knowledge possible when selecting a fine piece of jewelry.

As the reputation of Orin's grew stronger, they decided to expand and in 1983 opened their second showroom in beautiful downtown Northville. Orin's is celebrating their 20th year of business at the corner of Main and Center, where they continue to offer uncompromising customer service, coupled with beautiful, high quality jewelry.

In 2000, Gina joined the family business, and received her graduate gemologist degree in Carlsbad, California at the prestigious Gemological Institute of America, and has a business degree from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids. This has truly given Orin Jewelers the rare opportunity to call themselves a "third generation family business."

Orin Jewelers has really strived to set up long-term relationships along their path of 75 years of business. Our quality of jewelry remains at the highest standards, and our jewelry repair department is second to none. Orin's currently has more gemologist and registered jewelers of the American Gem Society than any other jeweler in the state of Michigan. In today's times, it's important to have a jeweler you can trust and the heritage of the Mazzoni family and Orin Jewelers is what sets us apart from the rest. Our pride and loyalty to the consumer is what gives us the opportunity to celebrate their 75th year in business.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our customers, friends and family , and the Orin Jewelers team for your continued support over the years to make Orin Jewelers what it is today. Our constant goal is to provide you with the best in quality and service, and to continue to exceed all of your expectations. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to celebrate our 75th year, and our family looks forward to serving your family for generations to come."

Sincerely,
Orin J. Mazzoni Jr.
